Second PhyNuBE meeting: clustering and symmetries in nuclear physics

From 16:00
to 14:50
Centre Paul-Langevin 24 rue du Coin 73500 Aussois

The second PhyNuBE meeting will take place between March 26 and 31, 2023 at the CNRS Paul Langevin center in Aussois and will also be the occasion to launch the renewal of the GDR Resanet. This event will propose two main topics: clustering and symmetries.

The clustering theme covers aspects related to the physics of open quantum systems and the formation of quasi-molecular states. This subject is also interested in nuclear astrophysics, in the equation of state of matter or in the radioactivities of clusters. The second theme concerns the vast field of symmetries. It can be those of the standard model of particle physics, but also those related to atomic nuclei such as isospin.

The meeting will feature keynote presentations on the history of these scientific topics, the successes of the research and the challenges that remain. There will also be shorter presentations on the latest experimental results or theoretical developments that may guide future research. Much of the time will be devoted to discussion and debate, but also to outdoor activities. Students are strongly encouraged to participate and full board accommodation will be provided.
