Gray Scott Battle School 2023

From 9:00
to 18:15
Auditorium Marcel Vivargent 9 Chem. de Bellevue 74000 Annecy

The Gray Scott battle is a thematic school about programming and optimization on heterogeneous infrastructure. This year, this event will take place in the Marcel Vivargent auditorium, in the LAPP premises in Annecy.

This year's programme will deal with the optimisation of computations on different types of hardware (CPU, GPU), presenting their respective characteristics, architectures and bottlenecks. The programme will focus on generic optimisation methods applicable to any type of hardware, and on the different libraries, technologies and languages available to achieve the best possible performance. Ideally, the peak performance of the machine.

All methods will be illustrated on simple examples, such as Hadamard products, reductions, barycenter calculations and matrix products in order to be applied to a single problem: the simulation of a Gray Scott reaction.
